It´s one of the most historic and heroic Rum mixes in the history of human being.  and is believed to date back to English Sea Captain Sir Frencis Drake. Some of Drake´s antics don´t pitch him as the perfect poster boy for a Cocktail. The story goes that the ship´s stockpile of supplies was plundered and a little sugarcane spirit, Mint and Lime made into a cup. Beyond Drake´s penchant for the finer things in life, the drink was thought to be medicinal.

In Cuba they´ll serve the drink over cubed ice and the process is properly rapid, although not always balanced.

Aesthetically it´s not as pleasing - but then you´re in Cuba and, frankly who cares, right?
